Soooo...Here we are back asking you all for your expert opinions!! We at KitchenAid are looking into developing a NEW style glass bowl for our tilt head mixers! Not a replacement bowl for a 4-c or anything like that..A new bowl for those interested in a glass bowl accessory.
It could feature:
A pouring spout!
Easy to read measure marks
Easy to grip handle
AND AND AND..(HINT)this is where you come in

I am new to this forum, but am in the process of deciding which new KA to get. My 20 year old KSM (w/ 5 qt bowl) gave up the ghost recently and I was thinking how nice it would be to have some kind of adapter for the new wide bowl machines, 5 or 6 qt, that would allow me to use my older narrow bowl too . It would definitely make my decision easier.
An adapter shouldn't be too difficult to devise

I also bought some Emile Henry souffle dishes so I will have to make sure not to drop those!!!

(they were $7.00 a piece!! And that was a sale price!!! )

And also, Vernon, cleaning up broken glass is the absolute worst job in the world. I am always so afraid of missing a shard or 2 and having on of my dogs get it stuck in their foot. Of course, you won't need to bother with that problem since you have all those STUFFED pets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have pretty good luck with corelle, cooknup....

I took a chance and bought some Dansk coffee cups not too long ago, (they were only $.25 a piece)....

I also bought two really nice crocks for my utensils and a Le Creuset batter bowl. I'll see if I can keep them for more than a week!!! LOL

My coffee maker is UGLY!!!!! I buy the cheapest thing I can find and it is usually a big clunky eyesore!!! Maybe one of these days I will splurge and get a fancy one!!!

And to Vernon- I HAVE SHATTERED MANY MANY CORELLE ITEMS!!!!!!! Many!!! Too many to count! I am really clumsy.....

It's a beauty! Looks like a great spread of good eats too! All ready for company - I'll be there shortly With the four cups out looks like I better bring Mixedup, VernonBishop, and LovesPink along with me.

"Mixer-Knightly" Nickel pearl Pro 600, "Whirley Pearl" Meringue Accolade 400, Pasta Roller Set, & New Attachment Pack.

I posted this in the "Take a look at this...." thread under the 90th anniversary topic, but wanted to add it here as well, so you all know about some great news I have come across! I have recently been informed by a colleague who has been in touch with our engineering department at the factory, that the glass bowl that comes with the 90th anniversary stand mixer WILL fit any modern tilt-head stand mixer, with the exception of the Accolade. This means that if you have one of our 4.5-qt. mixers, when the bowl becomes available to purchase separately, you can buy it for yours! Or, if you've already bought the candy apple red beauty, and you also have a 4.5-qt., you can use the bowl on both. Just be sure to stick to the flour power rating of your 4.5-qt. when using the glass bowl.

I hear you there, cooknup!!!

I have dropped my Corelle plates, I don't know how many times...

This is why I have Corelle, and not something nicer like Emile Henry or Dansk...

By the way, the plates always survive!!

And boy am I good at breaking things!!! I store my coffee maker under in the bottom cabinets (yes, to free up space so my KA can be OUT on top!!!) and every night before bed I prepare for the morning by getting out the maker and the mugs, sugar, etc. so it is all out and ready for the next day. I can't tell you how many times in my haste at night to do the set-up I have carelessly whisked the maker onto the counter-- and let the glass carafe fall to shatter ALL OVER THE PLACE!!! And I mean glass ALL OVER. I could almost cry it is so much clean-up! I have to keep spare carafes in the house just for this reason. The last time I really learned my lesson and I grip onto that glass pot as I bring it up to the counter for dear life!!!! I actually don't have any spares lying around at the moment and I wonder if the thought of no morning coffee is scaring me more than cleaning up all those tiny shards of glass!!!! And no, don't be ridiculous, there is no way the ugly coffeemaker is going to be out for everyone to see and take the counter space of my dear KA mixer!!!!
