I would also like to see glass bowls become available for other models, but only if the price is low enough! Part of the attraction is the idea that a couple of bowls could be use at the same time and stored covered.

I don't know if a metal ring would work well as an adapter to bowl lift models. One thing to keep in mind is that there is a lot of force applied to the bowl when the mixer is running, especially with heavy batters and bread doughs. If there is any wiggle at all between the metal and the glass, the glass will eventually scratch. Perhaps a plastic material would work better for that purpose. The design could include a molded tab of glass (or two) on the side of the bowl that would sit in a notch in the adapter ring. If the ring is sold as a separate piece, then extra bowls would be cheaper to purchase. One adapter ring, many bowls.

Another adapter ring idea might be to design a metal ring so that it will lock into the bottom of the bowls designed for the tilt head mixers. One bowl design for both types mixers with the extra cost of the adapter for the bowl lift models. Either adaptation is feasible, and I think that they designed so that they are affordable.

What will it take to get a bowl that makes it easier to add ingredients? Forget about the glass bowl until you change the metal bowls to be more user friendly. Mine is not a tilt mixer]

We do offer the replacement bowl to this model. Although no longer made of glass, the bowl is only available in stainless steel, priced at $43.99 plus tax. This is available to purchase by calling our phone support center to place an order. The part number of this bowl is 4162158.

Great idea or even colors to match your kitchen for those with white, black, chrome mixer?
One with markings that don't wear off.
Of course a pouring spout and handle would be great!

It's been said before, but I want to second (or third, fourth, etc.) the notion of adding a little chute at the top so my ingredients can go "wheeeeeee" as they slide into the bowl. The plastic attachment for the metal bowls has a slide, but it would be nice to see something similar (albeit smaller) built into the glass rim.

I like the idea of a glass bowl because I can admire my custom paint job more. :)

I think it should have handles on either side, glass might be heavy and unweildy. Being able to pour things with both hands would be nice. If the metal bowl gets wet you can still grip it, but I can see the glass slipping and crashing into many a kitchen floor, without some nice sturdy handles. No more complaints from Lefty either, with dual grips.

How about etching/blasting a frosted "KitchenAid" on to the outside near the top? :)

Measuring marks.... hmm. I measure before I dump into the mixer, call me crazy. Maybe just a couple "alignment" marks and an optional decal, for really obsessive folks? I guess that sounds like trouble, nevermind.

That's all I've got on the noggin! Thanks for reading my suggestions :)

Forgive me ...I didn't read all the posts so if this is redundant, I'm sorry. I think there should be a lid so that we can put it in the fridge overnight.

The day my glass bowl was tugged off the counter by my beautiful 2 yr old daughter was one of the saddest in my life. She was fine and didn't get a scratch but I had no idea how to replace the bowl. Then I lost the whole mixer in the divorce wars. SO when I was finally on my feet I bought a new one (sans glass bowl). All the males in my family including my new husband felt like our house was really a home. It was interesting how they all reacted. I'm very excited to put my two cents in on this design of the glass bowl. My worry is that when I get it, it won't fit in my microwave. The cavities seem to be getting smaller or should I say shorter in height. I microwave alot, melting, cooking, etc., so it's use there is very important to me. I also like the thermal inertia that someone else mentioned.

I have not interest in glass bowl but I would dearly love for the steel bowls to have a pour lip.

i wouldn't really like glass but POUR LIP! POUR LIP! POUR LIP! and maybe measurement bars within the bowl, no indents on outside plz. Maybe make a carbon fiber exterior around the bowl, so even when u drop it on the floor nothing happens, no dents of anything. but mind that would raise the price quite a bit, but it'll match the Onyx Black, Licorice, Caviar, imperial grey, imperial black, dark pewter, and pearl metallic mixers really nicely.

Yes! That would be so awesome. One with a pouring spout, measurement markings (gradations), and that is microwave/dishwasher safe would be awesome. Perhaps it could also have a plastic lid that you could use to put batter or dough in the fridge!

I managed to snag a really good deal at Kohls a while back. They didn't carry the bowl covers in the local store, but they had them online. I waited until they ran a special on shipping - and it just so happened that they were running a special on the bowl covers at the same time. Woo-hoo! I got a package (set of two covers) shipped to me (free shipping) for . . . I think it was $5.95 . . . might have been $4.95. Something like that. They are great! Love 'em!
