See. I am with the above poster. I love the red but have tile floors - no way I want a glass bowl. I thought about getting it for my mother but wouldn't for the same reason - the glass bowl is bound to be heavier than the stainless steel. She is 80 and bowl+batter might be too much.

It looks beautiful, but I am in love with my homely but practical stainless steel bowl. :^)

What a neat offer! Having just purchased my wonderful Caviar KP26M1X, I would love to win this to give to my daughter whose favorite color is Red.

Glass breaks when it wants too. There seems to be no explanation why a drop to floor sends it bouncing and a tink against the faucet is shattersville. I use glass objects and enjoy them for years. It helps to build a general sense of carefulness in all things appliances and kitchen.

I'm just always rushing and I get careless, I guess. My latest glass catastrophe was last week- a 21 year-old Corelle lasagna pan bit the dust. Like mixfinder said, I clunked it on the edge of the cabinet as I was putting it away, not too hard at all, but it must've been the correct angle to break the entire side off the pan- in a huge chunk and then, of course!, lots of smaller, hard-to-cleanup splinters. What a mess!!! But do notice what I said at the beginning of the story- this was a 21 YEAR OLD pan that survived with ME its entire existence!!!! Ok, ok, it did have many chips here and there on the handles but it was still perfectly useable---- until the Big Bang!!!!

I purchased a refurb mixer earlier this month. Am I automatically entered in the contest? How many mixers are being given away?

Thanks,
