Wow, this response is really funny. Clearly, someone hasn't been scrolling through this forum much to make the statement that dissapointment w/KitchenAid coffee makers is 'not a common experience'. According to all of the 'bad press' about the K.A. coffee makers here, on the contrary, it certainly IS a common experience.

Hi Kitchenmom: Welcome to KitchenAid Conversations! I am sorry to hear you are disappointed with your coffee maker! Let me assure you that this is not a common experience! We do have options for you, even though your unit is 13 months old. Please call our Customer Service Center at 1-800-541-6390 for details. It may be possible for you to choose an item free of charge or even $50.00 toward the purchase of a new countertop appliance such as a Stand Mixer, Blender or Food Processor! We do need a model and serial number when you call. We would like for you to give our products another chance and make you a satisfied KitchenAid Customer!
As you can imagine on a message board you will see both positive and negative comments regarding our products. We go above and beyond our one year replacement warranty offering this option. Not many companies do will do this for consumers.
What is the holdup on the new Coffemakers. I dont know is getting old. I ordered 2 from amazon back in November not realizing that Kitchenaid wasnt even making them. How is it they had a photo of one but you dont make them yet. These were Christmas presents. Im am tired of the same old answer, please forward this to whomever is in charge of this project and get us an answer! Someone has a timeframe.
I just looked a the Care & Use Manual for your new Java Line (10 & 14 cup) Coffee Makers. Both Manuals "Strongly" advise useing the filters and changing every 3 months. If you drop this line in a couple of years, I will find myself in the same situation .... Nice Coffee Maker.... NO FILTERS AVAILABLE.
Your mention of 'offers' ring hollow to me. My daughter drives our old '98 Dodge Intrepid, Dodge stopped making Intrepids. We can still get parts. I have a 10 year old Philips TV, had a new part installed 1 month ago.
Your assertion that it is reasonable to assume that when a product is discontinued, that it's consumables should discontinue as well is just plain wrong.
I just broke the carafe of my KitchenAid Pro 12 coffee maker the other day, and I was surprised to find that I can't find a replacement one that fits properly.
I came across this forum and thread, and I was wondering if the credit and replacement is applicable to me. I loved this drip coffee maker, and would have loved to have found a proper carafe for it, but seeing as this is no longer an option...
The 10 cup programmable in white and red will be available to order on KitchenAid.com next week! We should also have the 14 cup programmable in onyx black! Good things come to those who wait
-Does the new Pro Line Ion filter, for the proline coffee maker, fit the pro12? I have my doubts but figured I would ask. What are the chances they could make the same size hole and make all of these unhappy customers happy? Surprise me please!
Today I found a replacement carafe for the KitchenAid Pro 12 ... and it is made by Krups (Krups Cafe Line 12 cup carafe, made to fit models 453, 452, etc.). You need to 'adjust' the lid (place pour lip outside the spout ... this will make sense when you see the lid) so it will reach and engage the drip mechanism, but other than that it works just fine. Or if you still have the lid to your KitchenAid carafe just place in on the pot backwards (spout towards the handle). In either case you can make it work! And not have to buy a new coffee maker.
